Christer Andersson signs for Capricorn

Capricorn RC have announced that front running electric touring driver Christer Andersson has signed a 2 year deal with the Italian company to run their LAB-C01 200mm has chassis. The Finnish driver will race the car this year at the World Championships in Houston, Texas, as well as the European Championships in Sweden later in the summer.

Team Orion 1100mAh Marathon LiFe RX packs

Team Orion have introduced two new LiFe receiver packs in 1100mAh to their Marathon range of batteries. Supplied in either hump or standard configuration, these 6.6V packs are lighter and safer than LiPos and remove the need for a voltage regulator. Supplied with either a BEC or UNI connector and JST-KH balancer plug.

Duarte Faria wins Rd3 of Portuguese regionals

Last Sunday the third round of the Portuguese Regional’s was held in the Circuito Automodelismo do Funchal. The Half Final’s A and B were quite dramatic with lots of crashes and two drivers having radio problems resulting in several retirements. In the main final Mugen Driver Luis Cortez was on pole followed by Serpent driver Duarte Faria, they were racing in their own league, switching the lead between them, at the final stage of the race Luis Cortez lost 2nd gear and Duarte Faria managed to win the race with a one lap lead. Xray Driver Duarte Vasconcelos took the 3rd position of the podium with a very solid run.





Matrix tires carbon rims

Italian tire company Matrix have announced the introduction of their new line of rims for both 1/8th and 1/10th scale on road. The new rims will feature carbon fiber inside which reduces the weight by around 12% and increases the stability of the plastic even when the temperature is very hot. They have already tested these new rims at the 1/10 Pre Worlds in Houston with good results, have won the 1/10th Euro B championship and have also tested it at the 1/8th Euro B championship in Monaco, where they achieved 2nd place. Matrix have also released a new packaging system made by flow-pack, the same system as used for food. With this new packaging the costumer can stock materials for a long time without losing the quality and performance of the tires and going forward all Matrix tire lines will be sold with this new packaging.

Xceed high tech oil range

Xceed have introduced three new high tech oils for use in r/c cars and similar applications. Lab developed and tested by Xceed team-drivers to create the optimal oil for each below applications, each specific oil has a distinctive color, for easy recognition. Suitable for on and off road, the red oil is for high temperature purposes like clutch bearings, the blue oil for high pressure applications, like thrust bearings and the yellow oil for high velocity applications such as transmission bearings, wheel bearings and similar. The bottles feature a strong white cap, and a nice small tip, to be able to put the oil only where you want to. Available separately or in a complete set of 3.

Pro-Line Challenge - Announcement

The UK’s premier International Race Meeting, the 5th annual Pro-Line Challenge, will once again be held in Slough outside London in late August. The race has become a must-attend for all the top UK drivers not only because of the nationals round the week after but the strong international presence as well. Open to 1/8th Nitro Buggy and using a control Pro-Line tire, on-site camping, toilets, refreshments etc. are available.

DnM Tech NT1 engine mounts

DnM Tech have released a new engine mount to fit the Xray NT1. Released in both aluminium and brass, the aluminum matrial is made with aero space quality 7075 alloy and anodized in either blue or purple. The brass engine weighs in at 55 grams, and helps keep the weight distribution as low as possible. In addition, the extra engine mount holes makes it possible to fit in the Mugen MTX4, Kyosho RRR and Shepherd V10.

RPM Blitz in-line steering blocks

We reported previously on RPM’s new rear bearing carriers for the HPI Blitz and Firestorm lines of vehicles that incorporated 5×11mm bearings, improving durability and performance significantly. That same bearing size is now available for the front end of those same vehicles, with their new in-line steering blocks incorporating a 5×11mm bearing, which has nearly twice the dynamic load rating as the stock 5×10mm bearing, making a strong truck nearly bulletproof. These blocks incorporate all stock geometry for a perfect fit and are molded from the company’s ultra durable blend of nylons for a significant improvement in durability and strength as well.
